How to get a confirmed train ticket online this Diwali & Chhath Puja
How to get a confirmed train ticket online: Just a few days are remaining for Diwali and Chhath Puja, and many people cannot find confirmed train tickets. Pregnant women are, in fact, facing heavy challenges since traveling without any confirmed ticket is impossible sometimes.
Here are some handy tips that will help you get a confirmed ticket to celebrate the festivities:
Choose ATAS Option
Now, you need to select the ATAS (Train Alternate Accommodation Scheme) option while booking a waitlist ticket under the VIKALP scheme. You’ll get seven trains on the same route to book a waitlisted ticket on whichever is available first.
In the next couple of days, if there is a confirmed ticket for any of the seven chosen trains, you will receive a message. Then, you can transfer your waitlisted ticket to that particular train and get a confirmed ticket very soon. This facility is very helpful to passengers who travel in an emergency or get late-approved leaves from work. VIKALP plan offers to make the railway journey smooth for passengers.
Tatkal Tickets
The confirmed tatkal tickets can be done one day in advance but the demand during the festival seasons is so high, that may not be sufficient. People think that only for those people who book ticket through railway agents will be able to get tatkal tickets. Hence, for the common traveler, this process is a little time-consuming. This should be used only if there are no other options.
Current Tickets
Current tickets also offer the opportunity to get confirmed tickets. You can book a confirmed ticket four hours in advance of the train leaving. And the best part is that, unlike tatkal or premium tatkal tickets, there is no over and above charge. In this railway scheme, nothing will be left vacant. Everybody gets confirmed tickets.
Last Resort for Confirmed Tickets
You can make the IRCTC website book confirmed tickets for you. As in, for instance, you want to go to Bihar from Ajmer on 29 October. When you check and see there are no confirmed tickets left, you may take another train from Ajmer to Delhi and from Delhi to Bihar. Similarly, from Ajmer you may have tickets to any other place that has confirmed tickets available; from there you take another ticket for Bihar.
Sometimes, if a confirmed ticket is not possible from Chittorgarh to Ranchi, get the extended route. But if you can get the confirmed ticket from Chittorgarh to Kolkata, take that ticket because you can get down at Ranchi, your destination. You might even get a confirmed ticket this way.
Book Tickets Early
Booking train tickets is allowed 120 days before your intended journey. As the festive season approaches, confirmed tickets become scarce. Those planning a trip to their hometown during Diwali must make plans at least four months prior to the date so that you will not encounter last-minute entanglement.
So, the above tips may help ensure confirmed train tickets for Diwali. Happy travels!
