Dubai Siblings Offering JioHotstar.com to Reliance for Free

The story of the JioHotstar.com domain has taken an unexpected turn. Jainam and Jivika, the Dubai-based siblings who purchased the domain from a Delhi app developer, have now publicly announced that they are willing to donate the domain to Reliance without charge.

In a recent update on their website, the siblings wrote, “Given all the ongoing discussions, we now believe it might be best for Team Reliance to take ownership of this domain, should they wish to. We are happy to transfer jiohotstar.com to them at no cost, with all the proper paperwork in place.”

How the JioHotstar Domain Came into the Siblings’ Hands

The saga began last month when a Delhi-based app developer made headlines by publicly requesting Reliance to fund his education in exchange for the domain, with a hefty price tag of Rs 1 crore. The developer explained that his motivation for purchasing the domain was to capitalize on a potential merger, which he hoped would allow him to fulfill his dream of studying at Cambridge.

When Reliance declined his offer, the developer sold the domain to Jainam and Jivika, who are based in Dubai, UAE. The siblings have been vocal about their intention, saying their primary goal was to assist the developer and not to profit from the domain. They emphasized that the domain was never meant to be sold.

Clarifying Their Intentions

After receiving numerous offers to buy the domain, Jainam and Jivika reached out to verify the legitimacy of some of these proposals. While many were fake, they did receive several serious inquiries, including some with lucrative offers. Despite the potential financial gain, the siblings made it clear that they had no interest in selling. They consistently informed the interested parties that JioHotstar.com was not for sale.

In their recent post, the siblings clarified the growing rumors and attention around the domain. They stated:
“We never expected the attention this domain would generate, and we certainly didn’t intend to spark any controversy. Our sole intention has always been to support the developer and pursue our journey of seva (selfless service).”

A Generous Offer to Reliance

Now, amidst all the discussions surrounding the domain, Jainam and Jivika have come to a conclusion: they believe it may be best for Reliance to take ownership of the domain, if they wish to do so. The siblings confirmed that this offer is entirely their own decision, with no external pressure from Reliance or any other parties.

The siblings further explained:
“If Reliance is interested in acquiring the domain, they can contact us directly at jainam@1xl.com or jivika@1xl.com, and we will ensure the transfer goes smoothly with all necessary documentation. If they are not interested, that’s perfectly fine as well. We will continue with our journey and focus on our work.”

Promoting a Greater Cause: SevakArmy

In their message, Jainam and Jivika also took the opportunity to highlight SevakArmy.com, a larger initiative they are passionate about. Their goal is to rally 100,000 volunteers to commit just 20 hours of their time per year, resulting in 2 million hours of service in the first year alone. To put that into perspective, this effort would be equivalent to having 1,000 full-time workers contributing to charitable causes for an entire year.

The siblings have called upon influencers and media to help spread the word and grow the volunteer movement, which they believe could make a significant, positive impact on NGOs and communities across the world.

They closed their message with:
“Thank you for reading our update. We are excited to continue our journey with all of you. Jai Jinendra!”

This update reflects the siblings’ genuine desire to help and make a meaningful difference, and they continue to encourage others to join them in their mission to give back.
