[Watch] Naseem Shah’s Animated Reaction As Shaheen Afridi Drops Easiest Catch Of The Series
Pakistan’s star pacer Shaheen Afridi had a standout day with the ball, making early breakthroughs by dismissing Australia’s top-order, including both openers. However, his performance was marred by a costly fielding mistake, as he dropped a simple catch, giving Matthew Short a second chance in what was a crucial match for both teams.

The incident took place in the fourth over of Australia’s innings, when Short, looking to build a partnership with Steve Smith, faced a short ball from Naseem Shah. Afridi, stationed at deep mid-wicket, was in position to catch the shot as Short attempted a pull in search of six runs. Unfortunately, Afridi dropped the easy catch, and the ball even went for a boundary, much to the frustration of Naseem, who visibly showed his disappointment.
Despite the blunder, Afridi quickly redeemed himself by dismissing Short a few balls later. Pakistan further tightened their grip on the match by removing in-form batter Josh Inglis, with Haris Rauf claiming his first wicket of the day. By the time of writing, Australia had lost three wickets, with Steve Smith (27) and Marnus Labuschagne (6) at the crease, and the score standing at 85 for three.
