Teen Ignites Firecracker Inside Mahatma Gandhi Statue’s Mouth in Hyderabad
It had gone viral in social media the other day to see how a teenage boy put the firecracker inside Mahatma Gandhi’s statue mouth in Telangana. The video opens onto a close-up of the golden bust of the Father of the Nation. Between his lips, there is stuck a firecracker. Then a young boy moves into the frame and lit up the firecracker, running back.
The man’s friend, recording the video, steps back as well but captures the explosion within the mouth of the statue. It cannot be deduced in the video that the statue was damaged because of the explosion.

The BRS worker has been sharing the video on X tagging IPS officer CV Anand and demanding action against the teens.

Teenagers detained
A video with nearly 88,000 views stirred up social media users’ outrage demanding strict action against the culprits.
“This is very shocking and disgraceful conduct. Hope the authorities will look into this and take action against the culprits,” one user wrote tagging Revanth Reddy, Chief Minister of Telangana as well as Hyderabad police.
“Please take action against the culprits and arrest through CCTV,” another demanded.
The police have taken cognisance of the video which was put up on Snapchat and other social media sites by the teenagers. The police have detained four teenagers, who include two minors.
Police said the four boys residing in Bapuji Nagar, where the incident took place, made a video with the intent to make it go viral on the net.
