Mirzapur Film Announced: Munna Bhaiyya AKA Divyenndu promises a Return the Prime series “Mirzapur” is going to add another chapter to the universe in the form of a standalone film. So, this is surely bound to bring a huge grin on the faces of lovers of the show. It’s been written by Puneet Krishna and is being handled by Gurmmeet Singh. It will arrive in 2026 and will see the return of Munna Bhaiyya, played by Divyenndu, who was not there in the third season. The movie shall see some of the characters from the series go by the names Kaleen Bhaiya, portrayed by Pankaj Tripathi, Guddu Pandit played by Ali Fazal, Munna Tripathi alongside the Compounder Abhishek Banerjee among many others.
The series’s co-producer Farhan Akhtar made the exciting announcement on his Instagram.
Farhan Akhtar, co-producer of the series, announced the exciting news on his Instagram, stating, “Ab bhaukaal bhi bada hoga, aur parda bhi. #MirzapurTheFilm, coming soon.” In a video accompanying the post, Divyenndu humorously claimed, “I’m a Hindi film hero. A Hindi film is best enjoyed in a theatre. Need I remind you, I’m immortal.” The caption, “Diwali pe sabko mithai milti hai, lekin yeh lo, Mirzapur ki asli barfi” (Everyone gets sweets on Diwali, but here’s the real treat from Mirzapur).
Producers Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar of Excel Entertainment expressed their excitement about bringing the “Mirzapur” experience to the big screen. They noted, “This is a significant milestone for us. Over three successful seasons, the series has resonated with fans through its compelling storytelling and memorable characters like Kaleen Bhaiya, Guddu Bhaiya, and Munna Bhaiya.”
They emphasized that adapting the series into a film would offer an even more engaging experience, allowing audiences to fully immerse themselves in the world of Mirzapur. They look forward to collaborating with Prime Video again to deliver a grand cinematic experience that meets the expectations of their loyal fanbase.
The film is produced by Amazon MGM Studios and Excel Entertainment.
