The CID Show is all set to Return after Six Years ., Or rather perhaps, after six long years. When one talks about the most iconic shows on television, the name of B.P. Singh’s critically acclaimed series CID is always bound to pop up. For nearly two decades, this spook serial pulled the audience from Indian homes to become a cult among jocular changes in TV trends. Social media was abuzz with “End of an Era” posts after the culmination in 2018, but the show’s influence on the fans suggests it is going to be very much missed. Fortunately, the makers have confirmed that CID is back to TV screens after a six-year gap.
The Return of CID
CID was first aired way back in 1998 on Sony TV and has been broadcasting almost uninterruptedly until 2018, thus making sure of its place in the hearts of the audience. Characters such as ACP Pradyuman and Inspector Daya had become a household name, and their legacy would awaken renewed interest with the show’s revival.
Sony TV treated its followers on Instagram to a teaser of the new season on Thursday. The short video features all the favorite heroes SP Pradyuman, played by Shivaji Satam, Inspector Daya, played by Dayanand Shetty, and Senior Inspector Abhijeet, acted by Aditya Srivastava. The post added that the first full promo of the new show will go live on Sony TV on 26 October, and fan excitement is high.

CID holds the same position as in the case of Doordarshan’s Ramayana by Ramanand Sagar and B.R. Chopra’s Mahabharata in the context of Indian television. Every episode unfolds some spine-chilling mystery-a formula which has never failed to entertain viewers since its time. The fans can expect much more suspense and thrill over the coming episodes of their favorite spy thriller.
