Singham Again Box Office Collection Day 4: A Steady Monday Performance Despite Expected Drop
Rohit Shetty’s much-awaited Diwali release Singham Again faced the crucial Monday test at the box office, showing resilience despite the expected dip in collections. As anticipated, the film saw a 51% drop in earnings on Monday compared to Sunday, following a massive holiday weekend that had boosted its opening numbers.
As per industry tracker Sacnilk, Singham Again collected Rs 17.50 crore on Monday, which is half of Sunday’s collection of Rs 35.75 crore. The 51% decline was in line with expectations since a decline after a long weekend is normal, more so when a film is coming off a high festive surge.
Despite the fall, Singham Again passed the critical “Monday test” — a key indicator of a film’s box office potential — as long as the fall stays under 70%. The action-packed film also saw competition from Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, which is performing exceptionally well at the box office, but Singham Again has managed to hold its ground.
With a weekend haul of Rs 186 crore in global earnings, the film is now well on track to crossing the Rs 200 crore mark worldwide. In the country itself, the film has fetched net earnings of Rs 139 crore so far. With such a great cast like Akshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh, Tiger Shroff, and Arjun Kapoor with the hero Ajay Devgn, it now has to continue its steady collection run and ensure that it crosses Rs 175 crore by the end of the first week.
If Singham Again remains steady at the box office on Tuesday, it may also join that spree of crossing Rs 150 crore in the country. At present, it is just Rs 10 crore away from the total earnings of Ajay Devgn’s previous 2024 hit, Shaitaan,, which amassed Rs 149 crore. The film is going to easily cross that amount.
Going ahead, Singham Again will look to break further records. Now, its next target is Drishyam 2, which released and ended its theatrical run with Rs. 240 crores. The ultimate test, however, will be to cross Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior. It is Ajay Devgn’s highest-grossing film till date which has earned Rs 279 crores at the box office. Whether Singham Again can further continue its momentum and stand against these records remains to be seen.
