The legendary coach, who ran the Sonnet Cricket Club in Delhi, passed away on November 6, 2021, after a battle with lung cancer. As Pant remembered his mentor, he emphasized that Sinha’s legacy continued to inspire and guide countless cricketers, including himself.

The time without him has been long, filled with memories of his wisdom, guidance, and the warmth he brought into our lives. His legacy continues to inspire and guide us. Thank you, sir,” Pant posted on his Instagram story, accompanied by a photo of Sinha from their training days.
Pant’s Rising Form Ahead of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy
Meanwhile, Rishabh Pant is gearing up for India’s upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy series against Australia, set to begin on November 22 in Perth. The star wicketkeeper-batter has been in outstanding form, climbing the ICC Test rankings following a strong showing in the recently concluded Test series against New Zealand.
Pant was the top run-scorer in the three-match series, accumulating 261 runs at an average of 43.50, with a strike rate of 89.38 and three half-centuries. His exceptional performances helped him rise five places in the ICC Test batting rankings, where he now sits at No. 6 with 750 rating points.
Pant’s remarkable run included a near-century in the first Test in Bengaluru, where he scored 99, followed by scores of 60 and 64 in the final Test in Mumbai. His performances have firmly established him as one of the most explosive and reliable batters in world cricket, and his rise in the rankings is a testament to his growing consistency and impact in the longest format.
