This announcement has been made in protest against the Supreme Court’s decision allowing sub-classification within SC/ST reservation. This is a nationwide strike, in which the Supreme Court’s decision on SC/ST reservation will be opposed. Reservation Bachao Sangharsh Samiti and SC/ST groups of Rajasthan are leading this protest. According to media reports, government offices, banks, schools, colleges and petrol stations are likely to remain open despite the call for a bandh. Many parties including BSP are supporting this bandh.

Traffic action force and police force have been deployed from city to rural areas. Police is patrolling near the main road and educational institutions. Police is patrolling on bikes in the streets. At the same time, the railway administration is ready for the bandh. Additional police force has been deployed at Chhapra Junction, Chhapra Kachhari and Railway Dhala.
